Innovation Norway

The Norwegian Government Agency for Trade and Investment Promotion, Innovation Norway, has a Regional Office for East Africa in Nairobi. The Office serves as the Commercial Section of the Norwegian Embassy.

Innovation Norway in Nairobi's main goal is to connect Norwegian and East African businesses. The Innovation Norway Office aims to assist Norwegian companies that wish to enter the Kenyan market, by identifying new opportunities for trade and investment in the region.

The current portfolio is steadily growing, with companies mainly within the areas of aquaculture, agriculture, renewable energy, water supply, ICT, retail and services.

To identify projects and opportunities we work closely with key Government interlocutors and the business community in the region. As part of our working arrangement with the Norwegian Embassies to support our role as the commercial section, we have established a team with regional outreach.

While the focus initially has been on the market and partnerships in Kenya, with our new staff now in place at the office in Nairobi we will be able to expand our work to the markets in Tanzania and Uganda supported by embassy advisors in Dar es Salaam and Kampala. In addition we have consultants under recruitment in Tanzania and Uganda to assist us in market research and identification of partners seeking trade and/or investment cooperation with the Norwegian business community.
